Pride and Prejudice By Jane Austen: Pride and prejudice is a romantic novel that depicts the emotional development of the protagonist Elizabeth Benet. Life Duration of Jane Austen: (1775-1817) Famous Literary works: She is an English Novelist of the Romantic Period (1798-1832). She is famous for her six novels “Sense and Sensibility” (1811), Pride and Prejudice (1813), Mansfield Park (1814) and Emma (1816) but “Pride and Prejudice” is her most notable work. She used to write based on female protagonist characters. Her works represent the sensibility of the second of the 18th century and transition of the 19th century literary realism. Use of irony, realism, humour and social commentary have made her popular to the readers and been acclaimed among critics and scholars.
